  1. I had gotten a cheaper model for my parents for Christmas one year and they love theirs. So I decided to get the Supreme model for myself. I’ve tried many different flavors and it works reasonably well. If you’re seriously into flavor, you might want to stick with a pot machine and freshly ground beans. However, I really like the Senseo because it makes a 1-2 cups of coffee quickly and easily. It’s very convenient.

My only complaint is that the spout is supposed to be adjustable with this model–and it is! But you only get an extra inch or so of height, which still doesn’t accommodate my taller coffee cups. If I had to do it all over again, I’d probably get the cheaper model.

I previously owned the older (non-recalled) Senseo model and loved it; I used it daily for over two years. I recently purchased the deluxe, improved, model and the coffee tastes and smells like plastic. I’ve gone through an entire package of pods to see if the taste disappears; it has not. I don’t know if the plasticy flavor and aroma is due to the deluxe model or the ‘improvements’ made in the overall design; however, I’m very dissatisfied with the system and will probably return it.

Only one problem. “Chrome” in the description was misleading to me. Only thing chrome on this machine is where your coffee cup sits. Actual color of this coffee maker is grey.

One pod makes less than 3 ounces. Expect to pay for and use two pods for full cup. If you are a casual drinker like myself, or if you are limiting your intake of coffee due to acid indigestion or caffeine levels, the Senseo will work for you. One cup is slightly less than 3 oz. when measured in a measuring cup. I use one pod/packet to make a “two cup” serving which yields about 8 oz. of mild coffee. Brewing is very quick. While the Senseo fits my needs perfectly, if you are looking for rich coffee flavor, you will be disappointed using a single pod/packet for more than a 3 oz. serving. Hopefully someone using multiple pods will comment on the flavor.

  5. Have used of these for years in Europe but had a hard time finding one here in the States. I love the frothy coffee, and it is quick and easy. Plus all the flavors available.
